I am a soundbath practitioner, hospitality worker, and newly certified massage therapist based in Mid-City, Los Angeles.

My story: the short version

I am a practitioner from the Midwest by way of the Pacific Northwest. My training and experience is at the intersections of hospitality, social justice, clinical bodywork, sound therapy, folk magic, and deathcare.

My story: the long version

My bodywork journey began in Seattle, WA with a great curiosity and a deep need to resource myself around personal grief, professional burnout, and life in the midst of global catastrophe. Before I came to this work, I was a blue collar kid from Milwaukee, WI raised by a single father who split his time welding transformers and raising hell. I went to college for theatre, worked briefly in higher education and the nonprofit industrial complex, and learned the beauty and struggle of community organizing in Minneapolis, MN. Along the way, I became a celebrated service industry professional with a focus on craft bartending and a career in food & beverage that spans 20 years and 4 cities. When the early stages of the pandemic brought my bar career to a halt, I made a pivot into end-of-life care. After studying to be a death doula and providing administrative support for hospice, I moved to Los Angeles shortly after its first COVID wave in 2021 to serve as a funeral arranger and Schultz-of-many-trades for a funeral start-up in East Hollywood. While I no longer do that work, I absolutely love sharing my knowledge and resources. You can always talk to me about death and dying. If my life experiences have added up to one wisdom, it is this: I am no stranger to the toll that work and life can take on the mind, body, and spirit. I know what it's like to have to work a physically and emotionally demanding job despite injury and exhaustion, and to hold the contradiction of loving my work while fearing for my health without access to insurance or paid time off. I remember how it feels to keep going because that's the only option. This work began as a love letter to myself. Now it is a heartfelt offering for you and a tribute to the brilliant, resilient people I have met over decades of service and social justice work.

My Approach

In my practice, I use my skills as a massage therapist to hold compassionate and therapeutic space for people who are on the precipice of great change: this includes hospitality workers, healthcare and deathcare professionals, caregivers, revolutionaries, artists, and people at the end of life.

I draw from multiple modalities to create sessions that are unique to client needs. My modalities include Swedish/circulatory massage, shiatsu, myofascial release, trigger point, sound and energy work.

In a world that increasingly isolates and overwhelms us, touch is the bridge between our present moment and collective transformation.

We all deserve to be seen in our full humanity and acknowledged for all we have experienced. It is a deep honor to be trusted with the care of people who put their hearts and their bodies on the line in service of making the world a more humane place.
